After building this chair I assured myself there would be a solid market for these at every truck stop station. I’m sure retired truck drivers, would want some nostalgia and continue their lives under the tires that took them safely to pick-up and drop-off points. The many pretty colors and effects would hopefully liven up their living room and not cause any seizures. Just set the lights to music mode and put on some Johnny Cash and it should give the lights some mellow transitions.

It’s very comfortable and it doesn’t make your vintage threads laden with black soot are the first two descriptions I give to onlookers.

Putting the chair together turned out to be a little of struggle, particularly with the cutting. Semi-truck tire I found has more metal than rubber; the great benefit is that it stays turgid (stiff) after cutting. Thank goodness I didn’t use my first choice medium, which was a tractor tire, luckily they weigh about 1000 pounds, so I couldn’t get it into the truck to move it to the shop. I started off with the circular saw, I had done my research first and found a great commercial tire cutter that used a very large band saw and made some precise cuts, but it didn’t quite fit the budget and couldn’t find anybody in town that had one. I asked specialized shops and they gave me a carbide circular blade. Now I know the secret to cutting is a band saw, but a little late to find out, no matter I learned to spend a lot of time and love with this set of wheels. The lighting came into play when I thought a heart shaped seat cushion and doilies weren’t appropriate.

Tires, as I found out, are the most unwanted items out on the recycle market, you have to pay to drop tires off at the recycling center and the recycling centers have to pay to get rid of them.  Understandable because they are dirty and can be seen as unusable, although there are a plethora of uses for them. Lets discuss all of the fun things to be had from tires. If we are talking enjoyment you got to start with the classic tire swing, which can bring hours of fun moments, rubber isn’t very biodegradable and can last for years, so lets make a structure that will stand the test of time and trade bricks for tires, check out the earthships for a lesson in this. Don’t forget about rolling a tire down a hill with your little cousin inside, that can make a normal afternoon into a party. Last but not least tires can make a good border structure for a garden, they hold the dirt and water in very well, and you can have some fresh tomatoes for your BLT.

Here is what you do if you have some left over materials and want to rest under the nightime halogen light.

That’s a really cool way to utilize old unwanted tire tubes . Have you looked into selling those. I guarantee there would be a nice demand market, as those are pretty neat and probably don’t cost much in the ways of expenses. You should check it out.
Yeah its a chill beat, tried to sync up as much as possible. More new stuff soon
