A fashion representation of the future climate by Nathalie Talec. It appears that it will be getting cold some time soon. Most see the climate as warming up; Nathalie sees it a different way.   As our climate changes we not only see the rise in temperature, we have seen dips in low temperatures counter balancing each other as well as glacial meltdown bringing an influx of fresh water to the Atlantic creating an ice-age known as the Younger Dryas effect.
This picture can set the mood for an extreme makeover as well as an extreme environment. Perhaps a new look for the upcoming Vogue magazine featuring the latest Calvin Klein wear exclusively for the new environment–dubbed as “PostEco Couture.” Forget the organic cotton make sure your clothing is coated with latest polymers to defend against the elements.
This photograph does bring a hypothetical representation and mindset of where we may be heading, perhaps extreme, but nevertheless it is something to consider like the artist has considered.
Break out the aluminum shades, fur and Nivea skin cream for a walk to the grocery store
Could a less extreme example of this be happening now?

Wow. PostEco Couture. I might find myself looking like Mad Max
I, personally, see Nano-Technology as a less extreme example, but the most likely basis for a “PostEco Couture” culture to emerge. Regardless of the technology’s more hypothesized possible uses, I can’t see it making an impact on Wall St. for biotechnology firms until consumer’s minds are able to connect more with this unfathomable concept. Already in the works are Nano-technology fibers that create energy from simple human movement to power things like ipods for a more sustainable future, hopefully the alternative to being bbq’ed if bare skinned, but all the same fitting in slightly with the image above.
