  • I am an artist and a teacher. I cannot image being anything else. Creating art satisfies my inert need to express myself and being a teacher allows me to encourage others to do the same. I believe art is for everyone, and everyone is creative in their own right. Teaching full time at Canyon Crest Academy, constantly reminds me of this. Check out some of the amazing work students at CCA are creating: gallery/gallery. I love color, pattern, and text. I enjoy working in mixed media an allowing myself the freedom truly explore while I am making art. I am influenced by memories of growing up in the mid-west and the sunny lifestyle of southern California, where I now live. Currently my work is about not making art, examining the excuses I and others make for putting off the things we really want to pursue. I earned my undergraduate degree from Miami University in Art Education and am currently working on my Masters in Art Education through Ohio State. Despite its challenges, I truly enjoy the balance of being an artist, teacher and student.
