This past Saturday the Plastiki crew christened their new sailing beauty with a traditional polynesian ceremony. Â This 12,000 plastic bottle 60 foot catamaran hopes to send a message as it sets off for Australia and ventures through the great pacific garbage patch.
You can follow the voyage with their tracking system on the Plastiki website. Â Also check out the main sponsor of the event Adventure Ecology created by the eco-celebrity David de Rothschild.
